With the water level of Chandigarh's Sukhna Lake crossing the risk sign of 1163 feet, the Union region organization on Monday opened the two out its six conduits. The doors were last opened in 2008.
Till September 24, the water level was 1162 feet and has ascended since. The water will be depleted out to occasional waterway Sukhna choe, which goes through the modern territory of Chandigarh.
Association domain's central architect, Mukesh Anand revealed to Hindustan Times that as water level crossed the threat stamp, they opened two entryways. "We have additionally educated the authorities of the neighboring states – Punjab and Haryana - about the water level. Whenever required, we may need to open more doors," he said.

The kidney-formed Sukhna Lake was made in 1958 by hindering the stream of water in the Sukhna choe beginning from the Shivalik slopes by raising stone-cum earthen dikes. Covering a region of around 480 sections of land, it is 2.9 km long and 1.59 km wide with a normal profundity of around 6 meters.
